Phuket Hotel Review: Indochine Resort

I want to review the Phuket hotel of my first trip to Thailand. I stayed in Indochine Resort in the Patong area of Phuket. It is really about a 10 minute ride from Patong Beach closer to Kathu. It is about a 45 minute ride from the HKT airport. I prepaid for a car through Phuket Connect Transfers to the hotel as opposed to shuttle bus. I chose the car over shuttle bus since I heard stories of shuttles not taking you directly to hotel but instead shopping you around to different tours.  Interestingly enough the car driver that I reserved never showed due to an accident. I wasn’t notified because the company tried to call me and my phone was off due to flying as well as I didn’t use a voice plan while traveling. I found a nice taxi driver named Binny (083-1737761) to take me to the hotel, I negotiated my price prior to getting in the car and I stated multiple times to go direct to the hotel. When I arrived I presented my passport for front desk for a copy. The bellhop took me up to the villa in truck and took my baggage all the way in. Three Bedroom Villa 508 The villa was very spacious with 2 living rooms, a kitchen and small dining table for 4, 3 bathrooms and a private pool with a gorgeous view. The room was very clean, and because I let the hotel know I was celebrating my birthday I arrived to a decorated bed. A few pros and cons of this resort: Pros:
  • The breakfast buffet included in our cost-It was great. The food was good and they had pancakes, omelet station, and local cuisine. When we had an early morning tour set up, I called the front desk the day before to ask for breakfast to go and they made a nice to go plates for the entire group.
  • Comfortable beds-After such a long flight the bed was perfect. I have read some different opinions but for villa 508 they are great.
  • Wifi access in the villa-The wifi was good however I believe the router was programmed to only hold a certain amount of devices. Some of us had issues connecting.
  • Friendly and Helpful Staff
  • Shuttle into Patong  four times a day.
  • Hotel restaurant has good food and decently priced.
  • Very spacious sized villa
  • There is an additional restaurant across from the hotel that offers good food.
  • No television in the 3rd downstairs bedroom or downstairs living room.
  • Upstairs bathrooms of the villa have a lot of windows instead of wall and traditional ceiling, you could hear every creature outside.
  • No stereo, not a deal breaker but for that size villa it would have been nice to have music.
  • Some of the walls and curtains showed normal wear and tear
Indochine Resort
All in all I would definitely stay at this resort again. I would recommend to those looking to be close to Patong, yet at night be away from nightlife of Patong and Bangla Road. Check out my short video tour of the resort! Feel free to post any questions!
